GIP hold seminars for young journalists and students on Georgia’s EU perspectives and European values

On May 1st, 2019 The Georgian Institute of Politics (GIP) conducted two seminars for young journalists and students at the Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) on Georgia’s EU perspectives and European values.

First seminar – “Georgia’s European Choice” – delivered by Kornely Kakachia, GIP Director, focused on Georgia’s EU perspectives seen by EU member states and analysed models of Georgia’s EU integration: regional integration vs individual integration.

Second seminar – “European Union as a normative power: European values, their representation and challenges in Georgia” – delivered by Renata Skardžiūtė-Kereselidze, GIP Deputy Director, focused on the definition of “European values”, it’s role in Georgia’s integration to the EU, and the challenges this transformation poses.

The seminars were made possible through the support of the International Visegrad Fund, in the framework of the GIP project “Experience-Sharing of V4 Countries to Promote Media Professionalism in Reporting Georgia’s European Integration”.
