Master Class – How to get published?

On April 2, the Georgian Institute of Politics, in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute of Foreign Affairs, held a master class “How to get published?” for Ph.D. students and early career researchers.

This master class gave practical advice on the dos and don’ts of academic publishing. Throughout the one-day workshop, participants learned more about the various steps of the publishing process:

  • How to write an academic article;
  • How to select the right journal for the text;
  • What to bear in mind when submitting the text to the journal;
  • How to handle the review process;
  • How to increase potential readership – and get cited – once published.

The master class combined lectures and practical exercises conducted by Dr. Helge Blakkisrud (Norwegian Institute of Foreign Affairs) and  Dr. Nino Kemoklidze (University of Chichester, UK).

It was the third master class organized under the GEOPATH project. Promising paper proposals will be selected for further mentorship by GEOPATH researchers with the aim of international publishing.
