GIP Report Presentation – “Not EU’s world? Putting Georgia’s European Integration in Context”

On 13 September 2018 the Georgian Institute of Politics, with the financial support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), presented a new publication – “Not EU’s world? Putting Georgia’s European Integration in Context” by GIP analysts – Bidzina Lebanidze and Mariam Grigalashvili.

The report offers a more sophisticated analysis of integration processes in the post-Soviet area, based on the example of Georgia. It asks two main questions: How integrated/dependent has Georgia become on different regional and global actors over the past 25 years of its independence and how do the different integration schemes affect the process of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration.

After the authors presented their report,  Dr. Bakur Kvashilava (Dean of the School of Law and Politics at Georgian Institute of Public Affairs) was invited to comment on it and share his remarks. The event was attended by experts, representatives of NGOs, journalists and students. Dr. Kornely Kakachia, GIP director, was moderating the presentation and the discussion afterwards.
