Georgian Institute of Politics is hosting the international conference – „Georgia at the Nexus of Democratization and Europeanization: Prospects and Challengeson May 16th, 2017.

Civil society representatives, public officials, academics, and members of the business community are invited to discuss the state of democratization and europeanization in Georgia, and to identify obstacles and opportunities for futher democratic development.

The conference includes three panels:

  • Party Politics and Democratization – this panel addresses issues related to the further development and strengthening of political parties in
  • Parliamentarism – this session is devoted to discussion of the role that parliament can and does play in Georgia’s political system
  • Europeanization and Democracy – panelist will discuss how can Georgia develop a coherent strategy to guide its relations with both the EU and NATO?

GIP will present its newest publication, a compendium of policy briefs written by Georgian researchers on the above topics. The policy briefs contain findings and recommendations for civil society organizations, governmental bodies, and international stakeholders.
