How to get published? – One-day master class for PhD students and junior researchers

Tbilisi, March 25, 2020 The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the Tbilisi State University hosts the master class for PhD students and junior researchers, which gives practical advice on the do’s and the don’ts of academic publishing. The master class is organized by Georgian Institute of Politics (GIP) in a partnership with The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) and Tbilisi State University

In the course of the day, you will learn more about the various steps of the publishing process: 

  • How to write an academic article 
  • How to select the right journal for your text
  • What to bear in mind when submitting the text to the journal
  • How to handle the review process
  • How to increase your potential readership – and get cited -once published
The master class lasts from 10:00am to 16:00pm and combines lectures and practical exercises. It will be conducted by Helge Blakkisrud , Senior Researcher at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs in Oslo, Norway, having 25 years of experience from publishing and peer review for international academic journals.

The application should be in English and include
  • a CV (2 pages) and 
  • an abstract of the paper you are working on/want to write (250 words).  
Promising paper proposals may be selected for further mentorship by GEOPATH project researchers with the aim of international publishing.
