The expert conference, titled The New Black Sea: How the War in Ukraine is Reshaping the Region, was held in Vienna, Austria, on November 29, 2022.
The following conference gathered academics and practitioners from the countries of the Black Sea region to discuss issues, including ongoing military developments in Ukraine, the role of Turkey in the Black Sea region, developments in the South Caucasus, as well as the economic implications of the war, including for energy security.
On behalf of the Georgian Institute of Politics, Prof. Kornely Kakachia (Director, GIP) participated in the second workshop on South Caucasus and the wider Black Sea region.
The expert conference was organized by the International Institute for Peace, Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Multilateral Dialogue, and Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, With the support of the City of Vienna and The Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
