On 30 October GIP Director – Kornely Kakachia – participated in the seminar – “10 years of EUMM in Georgia” – organized by the European Union Monitoring Mission. The seminar brought together experts from the region, as well as from the US, with additional analytical support from EUMM officials.
During his presentation Dr. Kakachia offered his assessment of regional geopolitical trends, addressing problem of Borderization and conflict resolution in Georgia, as well as, emphasized an important role EUMM’s played during last decade to maintain peace and stability in Georgia. The presentations were followed by panel discussion involving, Erik Høeg, (EUMM Head of Mission) Lincoln Mitchell (independent political analyst) and Oleysia Vartanyan,( Regional Analyst, International Crisis Group) moderated by Rayhan Demytrie (BBC journalist, covering the South Caucasus).
