GIP held discussions in Georgian regions about Democratization and Europeanization challenges in Georgia

On 19-28 June, the Georgian Institute of Politics (GIP) held discussions in Georgian regions about Democratization and Europeanization challenges in Georgia. Telavi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Gori Centers for Civic Engagement hosted GIP director – Kornely Kakachia and policy analysts – Levan Kakhishvili, Elene Panchulidze and Mariam Grigalashvili, who met with regional stakeholders – local leaders, academics, university students and journalists – to discuss the state of democracy in Georgia.

Discussions aimed to explore, how people in the regions perceive the links between democratization and Europeanization:is democratization part of the integration to the EU, or is it a separate process.

The event was organized within the framework of the project – “Incentivizing Democratic Development”, financially supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
