Strengthening Public Policy Analysis Capacity in Georgia

Project Duration: 01.2024 || 12.2024

Status: Ongoing

Donor: DAI/USAID

Partner:

Budget: 219,800 GEL

The project aims to strengthen informed public policy by building analytical capacity among students, researchers and policy professionals. The proposed project addresses the need for needs-driven policies that are evidence-based and could have positive impact on target communities. As Georgia is entering a new phase of EU integration and deepening cooperation with NATO, it will be important to introduce new, innovative approaches to policymaking, and put effort to better understand Western standards so it could guide policy formulation and reform implementation.

To that end, GIP will work with students and young researchers to establish Public Policy Analysis Hub and help them gain knowledge and practical experience in analyzing and developing policy solutions related to good governance and corruption.

Anticipated Results:

The proposed project will contribute to achieving the following outcomes:

  • Youth are equipped with the knowledge and tools to effectively assess public policy issues and provide evidence-based analysis using a variety of research methods.
  • Collaboration networks and formats are established between young researchers, field experts and public institutions, expanding the field of public policy research;
  • Youth from diverse backgrounds demonstrate greater engagement in public policy making on issues important to them.
