The Georgian Institute of Politics (GIP) hosted a Youth Democracy Forum – “Youth for Europe” on June 9, 2023. The USAID/Georgia has been supporting this annual event within the framework of the activity “Promoting Youth Transformational Leaders in Georgia”.
The Youth Forum, traditionally, gathered project alumni, participants, civil society representatives, private and public sectors, activists, and decision-makers to discuss the current challenges in the direction of European integration of Georgia and highlight the importance of active participation of young people in this process.
The Thematic Working Group (WG) presented the report “Using the Educational and Economic Opportunities of the European Union by Young People: Challenges and Future Perspectives” which was created within the framework of the above-mentioned activity. Also, the WG shared the results of the advocacy campaign with a wider audience.
At the Youth Democracy Forum, the activity the “Promoting Youth Transformational Leaders in Georgia” was closed and the team shared a project impact evaluation results. A total of 250 young people participated in this initiative and more than 2000 indirect beneficiaries were involved. Over the past three years, the project activities covered Tbilisi and 8 different regions, more than 30 small projects/initiatives were implemented and 37 publications (blogs, policy documents, and briefs) were published.
The final panel was devoted to the 8 small grant program recipients who presented the results of their community engagement initiatives to the audience.
